1) The watch, which counts 24 hours in the day, tells us that this is the 24th letter of the Arabic alphabet.
2) The shape of the mouse's fat round body and long bent tail give us the shape of this letter.
3) The sound of the "m" at the beginning of "mouse" give us the sound of this letter.
4) The color of the mouse is light gray, so this is a light letter.
5) The scene is at night, so this is a lunar (moon) letter.
AS A WORD
The letter miim is also an important letter used to create lots of crucial small words in combination with vowels.
I. mae (like "may" in English) means:
-- what? (used when asking about a noun as in, what is your name? Not for verbs though as in, what are you doing?) (The mouse asks, "may I know what time you go to go to bed and wake up in the morning?)
II. mae' (like "may" with a hiccup at the end, our "t" in Latin)
-- water (if the mouse gets to indulgent and drinks to much when he comes out, he might start hiccuping and wake the cat)
III. mae'a
-- mew, meow ("may (I)...uh, oh"...the cat is coming to get the mouse--maybe he should keep track of the cat nap)
